Shawntres is a CA Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with experience providing psychotherapy as well as social services in inpatient, outpatient, and school settings. Prior to beginning a career in Mental Health, Shawntres worked as an Early Childhood Educator and Director of an Early Childhood Center. Shawntres obtained her Masters in Clinical Psychology: Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific University and is currently pursuing on a Ph.D. in Transpersonal Psychology from Sofia University. Shawntres enjoys teaching and lecturing and is privileged to speak to MFT pre-licensed professionals, parent groups, and women's groups about a variety of topics including: Trauma-focused Care, Cultural Diversity, Culturally Sensitive Assessments, Positive Discipline, Shaping Self-Esteem, and Building Healthy Relational Boundaries. Shawntres is active in her faith community and has completed Pastoral Leadership Training. Shawntres' specializes in working with Couples through Emotionally Focused Therapy, Families through attachment-focused treatment interventions, and Children through play therapy.
